Preparing For New Roof Install - Homeowners

Here are some things to consider when preparing for a new roof to be installed:

INSIDE:
  • Remove any valuable pictures or mirrors from your walls that could fall
  • Secure any loose light fixtures or objects that are attached to the walls
  • Any valuables in the attic such as antiques, family photos, etc. should be covered with a sheet or tarp to keep dust and small shingle debris from falling on them
OUTSIDE:
  • Any hanging or potted plants around the outside of the house should be moved
  • Any patio furniture will need to be moved away from the house
  • Low hanging branches will be cut back to access the roof.  If proper pruning is important to you, we suggest that you have your trees or scrubs professionally pruned before the new roof is installed
  • If there are copper gutters on the home, we strongly suggest that these copper gutters be removed by a professional gutter company and put back after roof is completed, especially if the existing roof is being torn off
  • TV antennas, satellites dishes, basketball goals and solar panels will need to be removed from the roof
  • Grass should be freshly cut – high grass makes clean up difficult
  • Our crews will need access to all driveways and side walks leading to and around the house
  • PBR will be glad to assist homeowners in moving patio furniture, potted plants, satellite dishes, basketball goals, etc. as needed; however, we cannot be held liable for accidental damage.
